Job Description
 
You shall plan, guide and monitor the operations related to your sector. You will ensure that the appropriate policies and procedures are being applied, and that sanitary conditions prevail at all times so that the products we manufacture meet the standards in effect, and you will also coordinate the activities surrounding the various client governmental and internal audits. You shall look after upholding and maintaining the plant's product quality, health and safety requirements. More specifically, the Quality Control Manager:
  • Oversees the SQF quality assurance program, and as such, ensures the critical control points of the manufacturing processes are being continually evaluated and that a sampling schedule is in place to monitor the products' compliance with Agropur quality standards. Ensures quality ingredients are being used every step of the way and recommends any changes deemed necessary to meeting the standards in effect.
  • In essence, s/he looks after upholding and maintaining the plant's product quality, health and safety requirements;
  • Maintains the documentation pertaining to Agropur's quality requirements and the plant's quality control policies and procedures up to date;
  • Investigates critical product contamination issues (mould, pathogens, foreign matter) to determine the cause, recommend corrective measures and help implement said measures;
  • Supervises the sampling, classification and evaluation of finished products, and ensures the appropriate standards have been met;
  • Makes sure all products and commodity materials received and used meet the appropriate standards, files the reports and refers to these when needed;
  • Takes part in and assists with internal and client audits, as well as inspections and audits by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency or other government agencies. Tracks these and rectifies all cases of non-compliance pertaining to the plant's operations.
Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or ITA College Diploma;
  • Three to five years' experience in food production, two of which in quality control;
  • Staff supervision experience desired;
  • Knowledge of SQF, ISO and HACCP quality assurance programs;
  • Laboratory experience an asset;
  • Excellent command of English and French;
  • Knowledge of standard computer programs;
  • Team player, autonomous, rigorous, vigilant (food safety);
  • Participative management style.
